Most of us active on political and business media know that the Zambezi Portland Cement was unlawfully taken over by the Ventriglias. After that, Dr. Mahtani contested this illegal takeover at the Lusaka High Court. However, it has been almost 10 years and even after presenting various strong evidences, the court has not been able to come to a definite standing. The latest announcement made by the current judge handling this case is somewhat reassuring. The judge has announced that the case hearing is closed and both parties will be submitting their evidences in written and oral format. Once these evidences are clearly validated, final judgment will be announced. This is indeed good news as Dr. Mahtani’s evidences are much stronger and valid compared to the Ventriglias.
Zambia is a growing country. Though it is constantly marred by corruption and politics, the country is seeing improvements in various areas. One of them is with the help of few good businessmen and industrialists who are working hard to contribute to the economic and social development of the nation. One of them is Dr. Rajan Mahtani, noted and successful businessmen in Zambia. He has established various companies and institutions across Zambia. At the same time, he is known for his philanthropic and charitable activities aimed towards the less privileged sections of the society. On the other hand, Zambia is also filled with notorious business houses like the Ventriglias. They are notoriously known as the ‘Italian Mafias’ and have been directly or indirectly involved in various unethical, unlawful and even criminal activities. However, they get away from law and government due to the latter’s inability to provide truthful judgment, time and again.
